Cobra Launch

Can be done on your own or with help of a friend.

Cells exposed at the edge of the window inflate and pull the wing up like a snake.

Finesse on the brakes here is key.

Success: up 3x in a row

GREG HAMERTON

Wing: Advance | Sigma XAlps | 25m2

Wind: 20km/h | mild turbulence | strong lift

Great demonstration of how to cobra launch on your own.

SIMON WINKLER

Wing: Gradient | Golden 4 | 24m2

Wind: 20km/h | no turbulence | mild lift

Cobra launch without sliding the wing along the takeoff. Good for small takeoff areas and strong wind.

CHRIS DERVIN

Wing: Mac Para | Eden 6 | 28m2

Wind: 20km/h | mild turbulence | mild lift

Secret is to have wing perpendicular to slope/wind and stand at 45 degrees to wing. Inflate by pulling the outer A line across your body so there is never any slack.
